Ty & Ari's Playroom
February 11, 2015
Since February is our month of love on the Lavish Lemon Link Up, today I wanted to share something I love and enjoy! Decorating has always been a passion of mine. Even as a child I remember rearranging my doll and trinket shelves until they looked perfectly pretty. I often think I might have missed my real calling, but now I enjoy decorating my own house and for family and friends.
Since starting the blog, I’ve had people reach out to me for decorating jobs! I’m so grateful to take these jobs and continue exploring my passion while providing beautiful spaces in the place someone calls home.
I’m currently working on a boy’s playroom for two of the sweetest little boys I know, Ty and Ari. I really enjoy designing children’s playrooms because I know the space will create memories for a family.
Today I wanted to share what is inspiring me on the design of this playroom and where you can find some of these amazing items!
Found this beauty on Etsy and it really helped set the color scheme for the room. It’s currently 20% off…SCORE!
I was so excited to find this rug on Amazon by Safavieh Dhurries Collection. It will be the perfect statement piece to bring the entire room together.
You can find these shelves on just about every décor site, Amazon, Overstock, Wayfair etc. I however got really lucky, Ty and Ari’s Dad is a DIYer and is working on putting together something similar with metal plumbing pipes and distressed wood.
Navy and Stars- I found on Amazon for $5. They are technically pillow covers, but I figured we can reuse some old pillows or buy something really inexpensive.
Grey Pillows- Again pillow covers and these are from Ikea
Bali Print Pillow- Again from Amazon. I probably won't settle on this particular one because of the $25 price tag, but something similar will do!
I've been seeing these at HomeGoods on the regular. These will be perfect in a curious kid's playroom. A pop of color and a nice piece they can grow with.
Big bold orange stripes will really tie the room and all the colors in it together. These will also be perfect for story time and lounging with toys.
I'm totally digging the natural look of this teepee, especially with all the colors already in the room.
I'm loving the galvanized buckets and metal crates for some of the storage options in this playroom. Best part about these is when the kids outgrow the room you can move them into another space or closet for extra storage for the entire family.
I'm so excited to get started on this project and show you the final reveal. If you're working on redecorating your playroom, check out my previous post and style tips.
Hope you enjoyed my little design inspiration! I really LOVE sharing my passion with you. What are some of your favorite hobbies?
Happy Hump Day and thanks for stopping by the Lavish Lemon Link Up!
