We have decided not to do a complete overhaul and stick to just updating the basics. Our cabinets and floor are in really good shape so we are sticking with those.
Here are the planned changes…
Paint Color -Beher Silver City
This grey will lighten up the space and make it look much bigger. I think it will also compliment the wood cabinets and countertops.
Countertop- Grey and white quartz
Thank you to everyone on facebook who helped me make my decision.
Backsplash
We are going to take a huge leap of faith on our current backsplash and paint it…don’t panic yet I’ve been reading up on it and it seems legit. We are going to paint it white to keep everything very clean. I’m crossing my fingers that it works. If not, we will be completely replacing it. We originally wanted to replace it, but after having quotes and the opinions of contractors, it’s going to be a ton of work and super costly. I’m not prepared to deal with a huge construction zone in my home (just thinking about it stresses me out)!
Cabinet Hardware
We are going with this bronzed antiqued look. The cabinet hinges are already this color so to save ourselves the trouble and money we are sticking with it.
Light fixture-Sphere chandelier
This one is from Amazon. I think it will make a huge statement in the space.
Butcher Block Island
Our kitchen has very limited countertop space, to combat that we are going to put in a butcher block island. I’m loving the one above and plan on searching high and low for one similar or DIY.
Area Rug
I want to add a big bold striped rug down the center of the kitchen. I love the simple look of the one pictured above.
I can’t wait to share the progress of the project with you! I’m sure there will be good and bad, but I’m excited to finally tackle the kitchen!
Have you renovated a kitchen? Do you have any tips to share? Please do, I need all the help I can get!
Join us Wednesday for the Lavish Lemon Link Up. We will be sharing our winter beauty tips.
Happy Monday!
