Patience and Procrastination in 2015

It’s Wednesday’s Lavish Lemon Link Up! Today we are sharing our 2015 goals, resolutions, improvements, dreams…whatever you want to call it! (Remember bloggers just because we have a specific topic doesn’t mean that’s the only type of post you can share. Anything lifestyle related is totally fine!)

I’m not the type to make New Year’s Resolutions because by the next year I’m making resolutions to stick to my resolution… it’s just crazy! However, I do believe in personal growth and improvement.  When I reflect on 2014, I think about all the people I’m so lucky to have in my life.  I owe it to them to be the very best. My two biggest flaws are not having enough patience and procrastination.  

 

Patience

I need to relax and not rush everything and everyone! I need to remember that things will come in time. I need patience at the grocery store, patience with my husband (who deals with my crazy a ton), I need to be patient with people at work, I need to remember that building a blog following doesn’t happen overnight, I need to stop cutting phone calls short with family and friends because I have “a million things to do”, I need to take my dog on more walks, I just need to be PATIENT!  We all need to put the brakes on and remember that you only get to live once, so why are we in such a rush for it to be over?  While we’re all trying to cram as much as possible into one day, there’s so much going on around us that we are missing out on. My goal is to slow down, take a breather to decompress when I find my patience dwindling, and maybe take up yoga (again) to keep my stress in check.

 

Procrastination

There’s really not much to say here….just get shit done! Stop putting off home improvements, work projects, blog posts, sending birthday cards , etc! Procrastination stresses me out which doesn’t help with patience (see why I paired these two together). I struggle with procrastination A LOT…mostly because I feel like my mind is pulling me in multiple directions at once causing me to lose track of what I’m doing.  My goal in 2015 is to take ten minutes every night a make a short list with 1-3 items that I want to accomplish the next day. These items don’t have to be large they just have to get done.

I know I’m not going to be perfect, but I’m going to try really hard in 2015 to make some personal changes!
